Castle School Gets Ready for Hello Yellow 💛
Castle is a successful special school providing education for pupils aged 7 to 18 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our pupils have a wide range of needs, including moderate learning difficulties, autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, and social, emotional and behavioural needs.
At Castle, supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils is an important part of school life. We want every young person to feel valued, supported and confident to talk about their feelings and ask for help when they need it.
On 9 October, Castle School will be joining schools and communities across the country to take part in Hello Yellow, raising money for YoungMinds and showing our support for young people's mental health. We are going to do a non-uniform day (join in wearing yellow), having a cake sale and we are doing a sporting event in the afternoon.
We are looking forward to bringing our school community together for a day of fun, awareness and fundraising. Our pupils and staff will be encouraged to get involved and, of course, wear yellow to show their support!
For us, Hello Yellow is about more than simply raising money. It is an opportunity to open up conversations about mental health, help our pupils understand that their feelings matter, and remind them that it is always okay to reach out for support.
We are proud to be supporting YoungMinds and their vital work helping young people with their mental health. We hope to make 9 October a positive and memorable day for everyone at Castle, while helping to raise awareness and much-needed funds for this important cause.
Together, we can show young people that they are not alone. 💛
