I'm wearing yellow this World Mental Health Day and raising vital funds for YoungMinds
This Hello Yellow I will join thousands of individuals, schools and communities across the country to raise money and show young people that they're not alone with their mental health.
Right now, more than 1 in 4 young people have a probable mental health condition. Many aren't getting the help they need, when they need it. Some don’t even know where to turn, who to talk to, or if anyone else feels the same. But we can change this.
By wearing yellow on 9th October for World Mental Health Day, and donating what you can, you can show young people that they are not alone and that things can get better.
Wear it loud. Wear it proud. Because we stand brighter, together.

Manchester College Animal Care Students Go Yellow for YoungMinds
Tuesday 29th SepAnimal Care Students Aiming to Raise £200 for YoungMinds
Students and staff from the Animal Care Department at The Manchester College are proudly taking part in the #HelloYellow Wear Yellow Campaign to support YoungMinds, the UK's leading charity fighting for young people's mental health.
Mental health affects thousands of young people across the country, and YoungMinds works tirelessly to ensure that no young person feels alone with their mental health. Through support, advice, campaigns and awareness raising, the charity helps young people access the help they need when they need it most.
To show our support, Animal Care students will be coming together to wear yellow and donate as part of this nationwide campaign. Our department has set a fundraising target of £200, with all money raised going directly to YoungMinds to help continue their vital work.
As a department, we recognise the importance of looking after both our physical and mental wellbeing. Working with animals teaches us the value of compassion, care and understanding, and these are qualities that are equally important when supporting the wellbeing of ourselves and others.
Throughout the campaign, students will be encouraged to:
- Wear something yellow.
- Make a voluntary donation.
- Start positive conversations about mental health.
- Support friends, classmates and colleagues.
- Help raise awareness of the support available for young people.
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference. By working together, we hope to reach our £200 target and contribute to the incredible support that YoungMinds provides for young people across the UK.
We would like to thank all students, staff, families and supporters who help us achieve our goal. Together, we can show that mental health matters and that no young person should face their struggles alone.
Support Our Fundraiser
If you would like to support the Animal Care Department's fundraising efforts, please consider making a donation and helping us reach our £200 target. Every contribution helps YoungMinds continue its important work supporting young people's mental health.
Wear Yellow. Raise Awareness. Make a Difference. 💛
