I'm wearing yellow this World Mental Health Day and raising vital funds for YoungMinds

This Hello Yellow I will join thousands of individuals, schools and communities across the country to raise money and show young people that they're not alone with their mental health.

Right now, more than 1 in 4 young people have a probable mental health condition. Many aren't getting the help they need, when they need it. Some don’t even know where to turn, who to talk to, or if anyone else feels the same. But we can change this.

By wearing yellow on 9th October for World Mental Health Day, and donating what you can, you can show young people that they are not alone and that things can get better.

Wear it loud. Wear it proud. Because we stand brighter, together.

💛 Brightside House Goes Yellow for Young Minds! 💛

Sunday 30th Aug
💛 WEAR IT YELLOW FOR YOUNG MINDS 💛

On 9th October, we’ll be wearing yellow at the children’s residential care home - Brightside House and raising money for YoungMinds to support their work with children and young people’s mental health.

Working with children and young people every day, this is a cause that means a great deal to me. More than 1 in 4 young people have a probable mental health condition, yet accessing the right help and support when it’s needed can still be incredibly difficult.

Behind statistics like these are real young people trying to navigate anxiety, trauma, loss, difficult experiences and the everyday pressures of growing up. Having someone to listen, advocate for them and make sure they can access the right support can make such a difference.

So, as a home, we’re getting involved with #HelloYellow to raise awareness, start conversations and hopefully raise some money for YoungMinds along the way. 💛

If any of my friends or family would like to support our fundraiser, any donation, no matter how small, would be hugely appreciated.

And if you can’t donate, sharing our fundraiser would mean just as much and help us spread the message that no young person should feel alone with their mental health. 💛
